Hey everyone! Been a while since I was able to do any work, but the console and hatches are just about ready for primer. Some shots of the progress:

Thanks Rick!
You're welcome.
Looks like your time zone setting is way off - you can adjust in the User Control panel.

Should be able to put my '72 170 in my garage for some winter attention.  I have had fun following your thread.  I live next to Bear Creek Ski area... so we're neighbors...sort of.  Good luck w/ the rest of your project, and thanks for posting pics.

That pic of the table covered in shiny new parts is awesome! I love that wheel! Question for you.... I see you.have flush mount cleats. Are you going to cut holes in the liner to get to the nuts?

The bow cleat can be reached through the anchor strorage, the cleats at midship can be accessed through the rod storage, and the two toward the stern,  will be accessed through small "Seachoice" access panels (in picture). I needed to drill a hole on the port side for the bilge pump through-hull fitting/ rigging install anyway, so now both sides will have them. Yay.

It's not ideal, but I broke my toe on a cleat once, and I'm now, I'm pretty partial to flush mount stuff. Everything on the deck is flush mount actually. Found that really cool flush mount nav light, which is much smaller than the common accon one, and less expensive. I LOVE it, so cool.

Fletch,  Just started my slightly less ambitious 170 project.  My main problems to fix are the crack in my transome cap,  new electronics (fuse block and switches), a fuel guage that works, check fuel tank condition and repaint console.  I guess I'll replace windshield if wife and finances allow (freshman son at PSU...3 more years of tuition before second son starts).  If I can find a digital camera I'll try to start a new thread.  I also have lots of questions.  Fishon

Fishon,

Hit me up with any questions, I went head first into this build knowing nothing. I've learned a lot, that's for sure.

PSU? WHew, thats some expensive schooling! THUS, I went to West Chester University. Thus the reason I can barely read.

Kind Regards,

Interestingly, I went to University of Illinois, in state tuition was actually less than room and board.  Out of state tuition?  Almost 5 times that of in state.  And we got to go to the BIG school (Champaign/Urbana), no little satellite campus' for the first 2 years...

Bob,

That's how it was with WCU, Penn State is expensive regardless. In state, out state, whatever. It's not technically a state school, I forget how it actually works, but the school is on state land that is leased to the school, which is technically a private school and not part of the state of PA higher education.

Fishon, you can explain better than I.

Regardless, fishon, our heart goes out to you.
