Was that scale ticket with you in the front seat Scott?     That front axle looks heavy!

 :flower:

Chris went to weigh it, the scales are for tractor trailers, they had to use a ladder to push the button to turn on the scales

If your putting trim tabs on the boat you want the trailer bunks flush to the back of the boat just incase you do not retract them before loading.
Knowing how things get dropped, chipped etc during rigging I would wait till she is totally rigged before going back for the non skid that way if you need any finally touch up they can do it all in one shot.
The rigging is the most enjoyable part, you simply see so much progress day to day compared to a rebuild
Sure is a pretty boat there Scotty, just like bringing a new baby home just no sleepless nights or dirty diapers to deal with.
Congrat, she is so close

Agree Capt. Matt. My bunks are inside of my tabs, or I would have to keep mine flush.

Thanks very much guys!

No tabs, the transom boxes are going on. I had the good fortune to run Farley's boat with twins and transom boxes, and she was a HONEY.

You had to "feel" it...but when you got her in the sweet spot, you could adjust the load with the engines. The 12 degree rear end helped there.

She shouldn't be long at Gore Brothers Tops, then back to Chris for the livewell, hang engines, hatches and hardware, transom boxes, non-skid. Gonna go ahead and do the nonskid before he starts production on something else. If she needs to be touched up after the rigger, will haul her back over.

The Onslow Bay rigger is strong, not anticipating many surprises there.

If were within 600 miles of Weeki-Wachee....Bob would be rigging her.

Re the trailer: Thanks guys for your good thinking. She was fitted in a rush.

Fitz advises to unbolt the bunks, move them eighteen inches back....done deal.

Not sure you have the option of moving the bunks backward - no bracket back there for the front
So Scotty, why did they put the badge so far forward?  Are they going to put one of their badges behind it?

The bunks can be moved rearward.

The badge placement as shown and installed is true and correct to original.

Well prior to install (two months ago) asked Farley to measure his original badge placement. His boat is also of '73 manufacture. Our boats were four hulls apart on the production line, November of 1973.

Therefore, regarding original 1973 Aquasport 22-2 badge placement:

The top of the "A" in Aquasport is 1 7/8ths inches below the fiberglass crease beneath the rubrail. The top of the "T" in Aquasport sits 2 1/8ths inches below the crease.

The outer end of the top of the "T" in Aquasport measures exactly 22 inches to the transom.

Upon install, we moved the badge slightly rearward from these measurements to center it between the hawse pipe and aft rodholder.

What is throwing you off...to the eye...on the stainless badge, we are seeing the actual letters, with no surround. Although the height and length of the badge is the same, the new badge is actually smaller, area-wise.

Really beautiful, and I can't wait to compare notes when she is all powered up. Twin 75's are an intriguing concept :)

RickK: the badge placement may look too far forward due to the absence of the louvered vent grill on the port side. Kind of an oldaquaillusion?

Scott,  keep in mind you have no weight on the back of the boat now.  When you get her rigged with the twins the CG will move back considerably and you may have a light tongue on your trailer.  I would start by unbolting your winch stand and moving her forward before you mess with the bunks.  Even then you might be still a tad short.  Extending the bunks creates a cantilever situation putting a bunch stress on the ass of the trailer.  I'd take it by the trailer company for advice.

Good thinking Bruce, much appreciated. Before she goes to the rigger I'll take her to the trailer place. They'll take it back without a problem if we deem necessary.

Thanks!
