Like the way the alum trim on the inside matches the rubrail. :thumright:

I moved the pics over from my thread...

This boat is absolutely B-E-A-utiful! Funny how everyone focused in on the trim, I noticed it right away too. This entire look of your boat is unbelievably perfect.

I can't wait to see her done.

Carl, thanks for adding the pics, and thanks for the nice words too!

Matt, Eugene told me about it. All we were aware of up here was black plastic.

It is made by Taco, it is known as "J channel". It comes in 12 foot lengths, pre-drilled, recessed (chamfered)  holes. It is available one inch or 3/4 inch tall. We went with the 3/4.

You'll need four pieces. The front piece goes on first, then bent towards the rear on both sides, so there is no front seam. Then two twelve foot pieces running aft. Then about a six foot section to finish.

Per Eugene's direction it is thru bolted with #8 stainless 316, one inch length with nylok nuts and #8 flat washers. There is a goop that is used, can't remember the name, to coat beneath the screw heads and slightly into the threads to seal and prevent galvanic reaction between the aluminum and stainless. Hopefully Eugene will input, or you can PM him.

The difficult thing was actually buying it. It is hard to locate. And when you do find it they won't sell to us. You will need to source a Taco distributor there and buy from them, or ask Eugene where to find it.

Money: I THINK it was around 60 bucks per stick, but not sure on that, maybe a bit more. The shipping was the worst thing, it was 120 bucks. If you could find some already there, that would be the deal.

The Taco part # for the 3/4 size is #All -0152 TAL 12-A.

It could easily be powdercoated. Good luck Matt and keep us posted.

Thanks bud :thumright:

Gran -

Looks great. Beautiful.  Is the center console going sit up on or drop flush into the deck?  If it is sits up, what for?  Curious about the design.

Thanks Therm!

The console is mounted.

It is the redesigned Onslow Bay 20 console. All of their console's have a 360 degree toe kick. Another benefit is the inside is raised, impossible for your stuff to get wet.

Looking forward to meeting you in October, glad you're attending :thumright:
