1974 19'6"
name : Bikini Chaser
ASPE1107M74K
I believe that it was built in Alexandria, VA
tower was built by a friend and myself over a weekend project
I purchased her in Dec 08 and just about have her like I want her, as soon as my raised transom piece returns from being powder coated.
favorite features of these older boats : they can run skinny and handle a decent chop, may be bouncy but you'll stay dry, unless a strong head wind.  If you happen to nail a sandbar just get out, they weigh next to nothing.  thought that i always wanted a 222 but after fishing in a friends 45K dollar restored 222 it didn't impress me with its shallow water get up even with a jack plate and it seems to weigh much much more than mine.

If the best all around boat is what your looking for,  then find an Aquasport there much less expensive than a dorado, sheaffer, gausebuilt, and aeonmarire, and the time spent with your boat is highly rewarding.

Welcome! Boat looks great! Maybe some day mine will too. My understanding is the plant at that time was only in Hialeah Fl. Why do you think it was built someplace else? And of course you are now on "THE LIST"! :salut:

Welcome! What is it with these 73s? It must have been a good year for so many to have survived this long. Looking at your hull with the matching rub rail it really brings out the lines  of that flare! How fast is she with that 115? Sweeeet running shots on the other thread! :thumleft:

What's your gear ratio?

Just curious.  I had a 17" on my zuke when I first ran it, and I could barely clear 33mph w/o over-revving.  Running a 21" now and do 43mph.  Interesting numbers, that's all.

Hello all.
I picked this gem up a couple of month's ago. I'm totally enjoying it. 1973 classic style HN ASPE0658M73H cert says it's 19' but I measured it out to 19' 6" Humm.
Sorry I'm a noob here but better late than never, I figure i'll have this one for a long time. Just need to start restoring.
Man do i have alot of question's. Oh and I have a 1989 130 Yamahopper on it and do 35 to 36 mph loaded down, GPS reading.
I'm having some issue's with the pic upload sorry.
Thanks
Jay

to answer your question in a round-about way:

the absolute fastest way to gain marine horse power is to...

well anyway, nobody asks questions when i fire her up at the ramp cuz she fogs out the entire area with smoke and souds way meaner than the modern "more lady-like" 4 strokes.  (your supposed to run 150 : 1 two stroke oil, right?) don't get me wrong a fourstroke may come later, but a decrease in hp will also come due to the added weight.  so we know mercs are a pain to crank but their made to suck fuel and run wide open, so untill it dies it has a good home with me.

currently don't have other interior pics, but what are ya looking to do?

(just kidding about the oil guys)  :afro:

Welcome jjkw60! Your hull was built in March of 73 just before flkeysaqua. I guess they really had a good run of building during this time. I wonder if the slighty cooler weather during that time had anything to do with it. You know the "winter" in Miami. Maybe they changed the hardener ratio to compensate for the cooler temps. I wonder if seabob4 would know if boat manufacturers do this kind of thing? More hardener= harder resin = Longer life of hull?
