Hey Bob,

I've seen that boat many times.  Both engines are rebuilt.  I have one rule I live by, don't buy anything from Gibsonton, that's Carney town :)!  I'll find you another better one at a better price.

An..."interesting" place, that's for certain.  But has anyone ever been out to Fort Lonesome?

Boat should run pretty good with twin 150s.

Got a call earlier that the 250 is under contract so once again the 245 found its way to the top of my list again. I'm scheduling to see her again and making an offer. Thanks again everybody especially Seabob. I'm sure he'll be even more happy than me with all the questions.

Well Aquasport family, the 1999 Aquasport 245 Explorer was sold Saturday. I found out after I offered him $13k. He said one of Sandy's victims from North Jersey showed up with $15k and didn't even ask to start it.  I'm kinda bummed.

Yeah thanks Bob, I know you were pulling for that boat too (I love that TM package).  Anyway, I'm not gonna run over and buy that 225 just yet cuz I'm not really sure I want it. People are predicting that the guys that lost boats in Sandy are gonna be buying up everything so that might be a mistake. However, thats still a lot of $ to spend if you're not sure. Oh well, thanks everybody :|

Bummer man!  Don't worry one will come along soon enough.  I had a seller that sold a 245 out from under me after we made a deal, so I know how it feels.  That is a good point on the effect the Sandy buyers will have on the used boat market up there.

She is beautiful but there are a few nice 225's near me. I was supposed to see another one Monday (didn't think I need to) that's located at a retirement home. I kinda got that 246, 250 thing in my blood so I'm not sure right now. So I figure that I might be boatless for a little while. But thanks fellas and let me know if you see any 245s or 250s, especially TM package, for around $15k. I'll still be looking.

Oh BTW, my insurance guy told me 66,000 boaters suffered damaged or total losses in the North Jersey, NY area so if your selling a boat...  I'm going to the Atlantic City Boat Show like every year but I don't want that 40-50 thousand dollar bill but I bet the dealers will do big business. I do wonder how that will effect prices. Anyway, I'm posting in the classified. C ya

BTW fellas, do I need a 6000lb towing capacity on a trailer to tow a 225 Explorer or will a 5400lb capacity be enough?

I'd say a 225 will weigh in over 5400 lbs on the trailer fully loaded. I'm sure some 225 and 230 guys will chime in on weights and towing. I personally would like to have a tad more capacity than the load I'm towing.

I'm pretty sure my 230 with full fuel and 40gals of water plus all the camping supplies tips the scale at the max my Tundra can handle (6900 lbs).  The Tundra handles it ok but you know the boat is back there (by the gas mileage too).
