BEAUTIFUL here!  Got in just in time for last night's sunset - not many places on the Atlantic where you can watch the sunset:

Hope you boys are having a good time. I'm sure you are. Would like to be there, but I'm down here in Southwest Florida in Lewis's old stomping ground. Scott, cook those ribeyes as good as you did in Charleston.

Yes Bob, the libations have been flowing for a while now. Blowing like hell this morning 20 to 25 steady with gusts to 35.

Pretty dang cool to see all the different Aquas in one spot. Here are the ones that made it.

Slipaway, Gone Fission, Ocean Potion, Lilly Pad, Therapy

Here's some pics, enjoy!

So far Ocean Potion is winning the fishing contest.

Have yall ever caught any of these? The weirdest fish I have ever seen and the first one I have ever seen that can swim backwards!
Ribbonfish. They were everywhere and I know we caught at least 10 in about an hour. We did end up with 3 nice trout fishing on the bottom and did have one king hookup but pulled the hook after about 25 seconds.

Nothing like having a yardful of Aquasports!

Well, on our way back to Pensacola this morning, what a great time Susie and I had   the tsa folks had some foul looks on their faces as my pogie juice encrusted sneakers went through in the plastic bins, Skoot's final cast for bait which captured the last 450 pogies in the Atlantic ocean, produced enough slime on JD's deck to clog the scuppers     Everything  was incredible, the friends, the food the weather, the fishing.  A speial thanks to Cap'n John and his wonderful wife Betsy for opening their house to the entire CAS crew.  Lew and his wonderful wife Brigette for bringing food, lots of energy and goodies for the members, and Scott the catalyst of the event, or as someone categorized him, the MEK of life's resin...  And putting faces with all the names we see everyday on CAS, We had a ball,  :salut:

I'm not sure how to do this trip any justice... So I'll just say what needs to be said.

What a fantastic group of people. I'm still amazed that we actually met on the internet and developed a trusting bond through our interactions of posting and clicking our mouses and earning trust via the love of this boat brand. What is really ironic to me is that the love of Aquasports has become secondary to developing relationships with people who are really special; people that could become life long friends; a testimonial of who we are in this country.  Starting with Scott Rhodes, who is so magnetic with his ability to gather the masses and create situations that draw people together; he's a caring, compassionate, giving man who doesn't possess a selfish, malice bone in his body. I'm very fortunate to call him my friend. He's one of those people you can call in the middle of a :*: storm in life; who will drop anything and do what ever is necessary to help. People like Rhodes are few and far between in my 52 years in this world...

John and Betsy have to be the one most gracious couples I have met. Taking a fragmented group of semi strangers and creating a host opportunity for all of us to gel into this cognitive group who wants to do this again. How often is anyone willing to take that risk? I'm really not sure if the word "class" does them justice; they just spew it in so many ways. They make you feel at home after 20 minutes of knowing them; quite frankly, they wowed me with their trust in me/us and I am truly glad to have met them and I am looking forward to our next opportunity to meet again; regardless of venue.

Lewis and Bridgette provide so much energy to our group. They towed 8 hours to be there and I am truly impressed about how much they care about our little collective. I admire Bridgette's attention to getting things done and her mastery of delegation despite our occasional push back. Lew, keep this woman, she's perfect for you! Additionally, Lew brings a $grand +/- of boat care products from his distributorship to give to our group, just cause! Says a lot about Lew and who he is! Thanks for you guys being who you are!

John Dupree, what a great person. Scott and I thoroughly enjoyed fishing with you. Your demeanor was perfect to keep me and Scott reeled in and on task! You're a great asset to our group and you have an open invitation to come fish with us down here in Florida. Spring Cobia season is what I'm thinking for you and your wife to come for a get away.

Mark and Susie; really, really great couple; engaging, fun and a pure pleasure to be with. Mark knows his :*: and my only regret is we didn't get a chance to fish together.  I would really like to have a meet up with you guys. Beth would be perfect for Susie in many ways; Beth also understands our AS comradely  but can keep it at arms length and is quite comfortable serving on the periphery.

Brother young Scott (Skoot); the other Florida guy that puts poggy's in the live well for our NC brethren. You are the youth in our organization who gets this! You and Meredith will be here in the spring to revisit Flagler Beach for east coast Cobia plus we need a young man too catch bait, go up in tower, tell us were the Manta Rays are and which way to cast! You are great guy; polite, smart and charismatic. No wonder you like to hang with me and Scotty senior!

John and Rhonda,
What a pleasure it was to meet you guys; It was really great to help you experience a different level with your 22-2 FF. You guys did a really great with some not so friendly seas on day three. Your enthusiasm was inspiring and you guys excelled with very little influence. We're proud to have you!

Gman82, Gary, very nice to meet you; beautiful rebuild and restoration on your 20 AS. Looking forward to meeting you again.

Here is my take-a-way from this weekend...
Friendship and trust are earned, not granted... You guys really made me feel welcome and part of our collective... Thanks! I can't wait for Beth to be part of this. She'll fit right in with Betsy, Susie, and Bridgette. Another spoke in the AS women who serve their men without hesitation and their desire to please us.

222 CCP's ride a :*: load better than their sexy 22-2 12 degree older brothers in a 3 foot chop!

By the way, we also like Aquasports!

As gran said, I too will have a lot more pics when I wake up tomorrow.

I measured the ride home today, 421 miles one way.
