Fitz (Farley) watches Skoot (Scott) hunt bait in the Atlantic on "Ocean Potion" Saturday.

Scott throws on bait. Take a close look at this spread. Word is there was a cast net is his cradle

Fitz, your post said all that needed to be said and I would like to "echo" everything that was in that post.  It was great to meet you Fitz and a pleasure fishing with you as well :salut:   Thanks for the invitation and looking forward to coming down there next spring :thumright:

As I said, Fitz's post covers eveything I would like to say :!:

I appreciate everyone letting me be a part of this great group :salut:   I know I don't have the high post numbers as many of you, but I consider myself a loyal member and have been since 2006.  I had a great time

I have a few pictures to follow a little later when I get some time :thumright:

Excellent Gentlemen...and Ladies!!  Evidently, a ton of fun was had by all!  That is the important part, and that is the amazing thing about this site, and the boat that is the Aquasport.  Must be something in the glass and foam...

I'm sure Scott has a lot of pics as well, he's just waiting for the film to be developed...

Well done fellas!!!

Yeah, I know Marc, checked the weather up there before I went to Scott's....brrrr.......

Scott and I had a great time, pretty windy the whole weekend over here so not good fishing weather...but good BS'ing, football watching, and drinking beer weather!  A weekend of gatherings I guess!

Had to post this pic for Scott, as he doesn't particularly like this stuff...

The Skyway, just getting to the little Hillsborough section in the middle, 77 MPH.  Why are the touristas in the left lane doing 60?  Don't like looking over the side?  Think I scared the chit out of a few of them...

Hey, glad you guys had a great weekend too!!

Thanks for coming on, we were beginning to think maybe we needed to change our deodorant or something

The temps were perfect. 75 every afternoon, no humidity at all. The Florida boys were digging it :thumright:

Scott, I wanted to get the pics up this morning while Carolyn was in the shower, thanks for the suggestion, I'll edit them now with names :thumright:

Sorry for the delay in getting here to post. I was just letting it all soak in.

What a weekend! Fitz really summed the feelings up very well, well done Fitz, I can't say anything any better. Thanks to everyone for such a great time! Rhonda and I really, really appreciate all the effort that went into this gathering. I'm uploading our pics to the gallery and I will post a link in this thread when I get them all up.

In the meantime I'l like to say a heartfelt thanks to all the members that made it. It was quite a memorable time for us. We've only been boating since 2008 and this only our 4th season in the Aquasport. I'm looking forward to so many more. I sure hope we can continue to make it to this event!

We've never been offshore and we can now check that off our bucket list!

Day 1 for us was Friday, we got to the ramp a little after noon to find Gary and "Therapy" about to put in and Lewis was there, back for some bait. It was very calm and a beautiful afternoon. We were anchored up near a buoy fishing with lots of other boats when Rhonda hooked into that ribbon fish. When she got it up above the water she let out this scream that was heard for miles. EVERYONE heard it, we joked about it the rest of the night. I don't think she was expecting that prehistoric looking serpent with the bad set of chompers! It was good stuff, she was really excited and I was happy to see her having a good time.

Shortly after that we motored off behind Gone Fisson to hook up with the others. Not 5 minutes into the voyage Rhonda and I got pulled by the Coast Guard for a safety check! What? Really? Yes, really, I was amazed.  Well, if anyone of us had to get stopped I'm not surprised it was us. We have magnetic personalities for that type of thing. So we passed the safety check with flying colors and were off again to try and find the other members. We never did find them though, I think I rolled right past them. We wound up a good 5-6 miles offshore! It was great!

Day 2 We wound up letting Gone Fission and Ocean Potion catch the bait and Scott R. loaned me three fine trolling rods and we pulled 3 lines until the wind really picked up and we went in Lockwoods Folly about 2:30 or so. Now, having never trolled, this was quite the learning experience for us. Rhonda was at the helm and I was tending the lines. I only got them fouled twice and was able to untangle them easily. When the wind picked up and the seas were splashing this was a little more difficult but we did it and lived to tell about it!

It was such and amazing time, Rhonda and I will never forget these two days and nights! I can't think of a better way to take the first trip offshore! And talk about being hooked! This was such a rush, like nothing I've ever done before!

Thanks again to everyone, it was so nice to have met you all face to face, so nice to have the opportunity to learn from you all. We really enjoyed ourselves and your company! We are looking forward to participating again next year!

Bondobill: Thanks for taking the time to send us those goodies!!
