Jim,

Just to make sure, you're flying into Sarasota?

If not, I can give you a ride from TPA... let me know.

Yes, Sarasota Bradenton Airport late P.M on the 4th.  Staying at Days Inn right near the field.  If I know where the ramp is, Saturday I can meet up with whoever needs crew.

It looks like my wife and I are going to get a babysitter and come out for the festivities.

My AS just this last monday went into the shop to begin her overhaul so we don't have any seaworthy transportation.

Richard, I know your boat is in progress as well, what are your plans?

I could easilly sit in the bar at Billy's, listen to Buffet and drink beer all day    but I'm betting my wife would like to get some sun.  I also am looking forward to seeing some restored AS's.

Calm down fellas... if the place is on the water and has beer I have been there... including Billy's.  It really is SO easy to find...  all you have to do is make sure to give me a lift from the Ft Desoto boat ramp...

 8)

Ok, here's a quick guide:

It's literally right at the tip of the arrow.  To get to Billy's, you run out around the outside of Shell Key (it's only about a foot deep inside), and you cut around the north end.  Be careful, the channel is narrow- with rocks on the east side.  Not bad though...

Here's a super close up for you fellas...

Note the rocks are just west of the "D" in "Dock" in this pick.  There's a small jetty that protrudes out into the channel there.  No biggie, the channel is marked.
