1989 175 refurb
« on: November 23, 2015, 03:56:43 PM »
Hello all, here she is ready for some TLC.  First on the list is the wiring, it must be redone from scratch.  While doing that,I must repair a 41/2X1/4X1/8 gouge in the stbd forward hull.  What should I do to repair that? Cosmetically it appears that a PO removed his electronics with a 12 ga. Any suggestions on a fix here?  Here are a couple of shots of her good bones.

I have a paper trail on her, OUA D1122E989, begining with Builder's Certification, Manufacturers Statement of Origin and original invoice. The Statement of Origin indicates she is a Striper but the shop order idicates an Osprey. Any ideas?

Your hull is an Osprey with the "Striper" option.

That option would have included a live well, a compass, tackle storage box in the console and rod racks mounted on the console side.

Capt. Bob strikes again, you are correct sir she has all you mentioned.  Any advice on the gouge in the hull?  I'm pretty much a jack leg repair man so the repair has to be simple or must be contracted out.

No need to farm out the repair.

Is that on the keel?:ScrChin:

There's enough epoxy heads here to get you through it. They will post up in a short while.

I think you will be surprised what you can do.

Good luck. :thumright:

The boat looks like it's been beached on rocks a few times   Can you get a good clear pic of the damaged area?  Can you stick an awl through into the boat? or is it just deep superficial  damage.  I had something similar on my 170.  The damage on mine was all the way through.
