170 bow eyre replacement

I'm sure this has been discussed and I have searched but I can't find my answer. i  am asking for help. My bow eye cracked on 170 aqua sport 1976 hull. What is the best place to cut in order to reach the bolts? Anchor locker,deck,or inside storage box in bow? 
Any help would be appreciated

The eye is located just below the anchor locker (as you know) - I think I would cut a pie plate into that area.


That being said, it still won't be real easy to work on. If you can cut a pie plate into the front wall of the fishbox also, then you'll be able to do the work with both hands

That's going to be the tough one to cut. I cut mine in the material before I glassed it in so it was easier.
