That Blue Seas 12 gang fuse block may be how I have to go to clean up the 230 and get rid of the fuse holders.  I don't have room locally at the switch to put CBs in.

genuinedealz has the best price on the Blue Seas fuse block.  They may be a couple bucks cheaper on other sites, but dealz has no shipping or tax, so you save and they ship everything Priority USPS, so you get it quick.  One neat thing about this boat.  I replaced all the lighting with LEDs, nav lights, anchor light, 2 spreaders, cockpit lighting.  With everything on, his amp draw isn't even 5A...

Agree on both counts.  I always thought the Cape Horn boats were some of the nicest looking boats around.  A ton of freeboard and they are built like tanks.

JJ, that is big time for certain.  I had to change out a 3/4" t/hull for an 1 1/8" so I had to open the hole up.  21" above the chine, typically you'll see 1/4"-3/8" hull thickness that far up.  Nope, not on this girl.  5/8" thick and not a speck of coring in sight, solid glass.  Put in a new pickup for the washdown pump aft, about 30" to port of the keel, hull bottom was an 1 1/2" thick.  Hull and deck glassed together, then t/bolted through the rubrail all the way around.  

Problem with the console is there is not a speck of coring in it either, so there is no place to secure rigging without adding some coring in one way or another.  So I got some 1/2" starboard from Plastics America on Adamo, that got t/bolted to the aft wall of the console, and I used PVC board bonded to the areas where I just needed to secure wiring/cabling on it's way to the helm area...

My Daughter/Son-in-law have a 22(I think) CH and it is def a guy boat - no frills so I wonder if it is an older one.

So, you can make a remote CB bank, can't you?

Well, hell yeah!  One of the easiest ways is to get an outdoor electrical junction box with a removable cover.  About 6" X 6" or 8" X 8".  Lay out your CB placement on the cover, drill your holes and mount, bring in the wiring from the bottom side...and, viola, remote CB panel that allows you access inside, keeps them safe and happy...

We used to use remote panels on Wellcraft Scarab Sports...

And your right, Rick, there aren't many frills on this boat...although I've added some!  Pic's tomorrow...

Bob, you are a really talented dude. That wiring is amazing. I have OCD with neatness, and you hit that one out of the park. One question though. On my 17, the glass on the console is so thin, I want to use the wire clips, but the screws would go right through.......any Ideas? I glassed in3/4 inch wood inside the one side of the console for the actual electonics to mount, but when I run the wires to the electonic devices, I want them to be neat.

My buddy that wired my boat used some kind of self sticking wire holders.
