Hey guys, quick question. Is the block foam for floatation or for the reduction of sound? Might be a dumb question, but I was curious.

Flotation.   Does not make any difference in sound reduction.

I like the idea of the block foam....  Is it bonded to the hull?  or is it just squeezed in between the deck and hull so it doesn't rattle around in there?

Its just laying in there...kinda snug though.

I too like that its not poured or sprayed....if water does happen to get in those areas, its not being "trapped".

In the winter the boat will be stored in a warehouse. We'll be able to open all of the hatches and let it get bone dry. There is a big open area under the casting deck, behind the fishbox...can set a big fan in there if need be, blow to the stern.

Sweet!!

That is the first hull produced by Onslow Bay. Onslow Bay 21. That little boat came on strong...a cross between a Jones Brothers Cape Series and a Wanchese Carolina inshore ride.

They only make them now on a limited basis.

That rig, used...will go for 40K plus...Skoot, if you get the chance....check it out closely :thumright:

THANKS for the great pic...the 27 Onslow Bay's  are flying out of there right now. Four hulls are waiting in line at the E-Rigger ....same guy that's rigging my mess.

The cored guide console shown is exactly the same as on Miss Delmarva.

Seabob...if there were two of you...we need the other one up here

I'm guessing he's just on vacation. The boats parked in front of a hotel

Finally...their production orders are gone...time to devote to the project.

Floor is in. Took 5 gallons of adhesive. It is STIFF.

Interior hullside foam core will be glassed-in next....finished, then gelled. Should end up just like a liner, but stronger. The builder says it will also deaden the sound of hull slap.

One last photo.... of my wife's lover
