Max engine size/weight for my boat ('81 20.2 walkaround) ?
« on: July 28, 2008, 10:42:00 AM »
hello, i'm repowering my boat and just wanted to double check/confirm the engine i'm going to put on my boat is ok for my hull/transom.

there's an envinrude 185 on there now that's in real bad shape, so i'm going to put a '99 200HP Johnson 25" shaft motor on there.

Do you think that will be ok?

I plan on picking the engine up on Saturday.

Thanks.

Should be a good choice for that boat.  19 or 21 prop?

See ya on the water!

i read that article someone posted about their five blade prop.. i think i'm going with a 21?  a 200 should get me on plane quickly and with a 21 i should be able to keep my rpm's a little lower i imagine and try to optimize my mpg's as much as possible i guess.... wishful thinking?
