1995 Osprey 2000 - Fuel Vent / Unknown

Hello Classic AquaSport,

I recently purchased a 1995 AquaSport 2000 and it is wonderful.

I am having trouble identifying a feature (fuel vent?) on the starboard side of the hull.

It's a foot or so under the fuel cap, so I'm guessing it's some sort of vent.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

Then I can determine if it is functioning properly, or if I need to get a new "cap" for the vent?

Does it look similar to the small chrome one just below the top of the gunnel (fuel fill is just above) or the larger one down by the stripe (waterline). Sounds like it's the top one which is the tank vent. It may sound disgusting but the easiest way to test is to blow through that fitting. If it's clear, you will feel little/no resistance. That doesn't mean the vent hose is still attached to the tank (most likely is) but that can be checked by removing a deck plate over the tank coffin itself.
