My fuel tank is now glued down with 5200 (Pascoe method).  I will bolt in chocks to the stringers and bulkheads to make certain that it won't budge.

I decided to change my chase tubes.  With the trough that I built to keep from foaming in the fuel fill, it didn't really make sense to keep the elbows up into the console.  The trough allows for everything to make the turn, and it will take up less real-estate under console.  It's also a bit more flexible when it comes to routing stuff plus i managed to fit in a bonus 3rd tube.

I started to add flotation foam under that anchor locker and in the sides.  I'm trying something different in the sides.  I fitted a temporary deck that is covered with polly.  I'll foam through the holes and remove the deck.  I hope this allows me to use less material and require less trimming and fairing to get the foam level.

Flotation Foam is nearing completion.  I hoped to be a bit further.  It's the 20 minute wait between pours.  It eats a lot of time.  I'll be ho-ho-hoing for the next three days, but hopefully Tuesday, I'll check the foam off the list.

Got the last of the floatation foam poured today. It took less than a 5 gallon (5A & 5B) kit of 2 Lb.  foam to fill the voids.  I think i have about 1.5 gal each A & B left. I'll level the foam and seal with epoxy prior to attaching the cockpit sole.

Christmas came a week late.  I picked up my bracket from Armstrong yesterday.  Its a wide body flotation bracket with 30" setback.  I got the ladder mount and 3-step ladder too.  Of course, now that I have the bracket, I need to get busy on fairing and painting the transom too. So much to do.

Lookin' good. :thumright:

Curious, did they supply a mounting template?

No template.  I think most people use the bracket as a template.  I may make one though.  It would be easier than trying to balance the bracket on stands.

Sweet!  Same bracket I have, you'll be happy with it.  Do you have a cherry picker?  Works great to lift and install the bracket.  You can make a template which is what I did but I found it much easier on brother's build to use the bracket itself as the template.  Mark the center line on the transom and a horizontal line at the appropriate mounting height depending on the shaft size of your motor, then use the cherry picker to get the bracket in place.  Drill the two outer holes on each side of the bracket and install those two bolts and snug them up, then with a sharpie mark all the remaining mounting holes.  Next remove the bracket and drill the remaining holes.  Keep the photos coming!  Good Luck!

Question, why is there four upper mounting holes for the motor and no Armstrong logo?

Yeah, I have a cherry picker.  What did you use for pick points?  Slings around the tub?  Or something through the access port?

The bracket came standard with the two sets of upper holes.  Armstrong literature says use the second set for motor mounting, so I assume the second set would be used if the owner wanted to raise the motor.  Not sure about the logo.  I haven't taken the bubble wrap of the platform, so I assume the logo is under that.

Console 2.0 is taking shape.  Foam panels are epoxied together, and it's nearly ready to glass exterior.

A 3/4" round-over bit made quick work of radiasing most of the corners.  Because of the angles, I'll need to use a sander to radius the remaining corners.

Foam fillets were used to increase bonding suface and provide backing for the rounded corners.

I added a reassessed toe kick at the rear of the console.  Will do something similar at forward edge of leaning post.  With size 14s every inch counts.

The console has the same footprint as the original AS console, but dash surface sits higher to make stand-up operation more comfortable.  Overall height is 49" with the raised surface for electronics.  I will be able to flush mount 2) 7" displays, VHF, stereo, plus all switches and gauges.  It still scales well to the leaning post and coffin box.

2x4 in the access hole and a strap to the cherry picker, I have a photo I'll post if I can find but I think you get the idea. Regarding the logo, typically I have always seen an Armstrong decal right between the motor mounting holes.

Yeah, I got it.  The logo on mine is in the starboard edge of the platform.

Here you go, check out the photos.  Based on this photo it appears that the upper mounting bolts are equivalent to were my mounting holes are located.  Logos on port, starboard, and center on all brackets I have seen.  They probably just forgot to install the remaining decals, no worries just give them a ring as I am sure Lawrence will send you some decals.  Looking forward to seeing that bracket mounted.   :thumleft:

Pretty sure they drill the mounting plates with 6 holes now for the bigger outboards that have the double bolts on top..  Console looks good!
