I have not owned a CCP but I think the high rails were an option.  See this sales book - look at what was standard (left page) and what was an option (right page) they mention a rail pkg. This is a '80 sales book.

The CCP owners will be by shortly.

My 82 hull has the recessed bow rail which I like, it also has a bait well in the rear along with compartments for batteries, on 1 side and oiltank on the other which I need.

My hull is pretty rough, gas tank is shot, floor is rotten, but I really like the way the boat handles and rides, and it will do 48 with the 200 Yamaha on the back. Also really like the hydraulic steering.

I don't have the place or the time to work on it, so I'm thinking about finding a similar boat in better condition, plus it would be nice if the boat was 2 feet longer but handled the same way, but I could probably live without the 2 feet.

Seen a couple of late 80's ccp's but they weren't the same as mine. So trying to figure out the year spread I'm looking for.

I think, but could be wrong, that a high railing has always been an option except on the XF and Explorer models.

From the few I've seen, the high bow rail model has no oil tank, bait well, or battery area in the rear

I couldn't remember seeing a 200 with the high rail but I remembered a 250 with one.

222 CCP

Here's a couple three.

My 1984 is similar to what you want but.....
The live well and battery boxes are in the motor splash well. Most move the batteries forward under the console and abandon the live well and mount an aftermarket unit. The bow rail is recessed. The ride is comparable if not a little smoother in choppy water.

Good luck. :thumright:

So, I may be getting a handle on this. If it says 200 on the side of the boat with a high bow rail it's an osprey?  late 80's.

Whats up with the 222 model that's not a flatback and has a recessed bow rail, is there a model name and years of production for that 1?

The Ospreys have a step up casting deck in the front and the CCPs do not.  The CCPs usually have a flat deck all the way to the bow and a big box in front of the console.

The one you're describing sounds like the 222 CCP.
