Lewis, sorry to hear you are having such a hard time. Hope you get better soon. I thought about you the other day when we spent the weekend at Boca Grande, since this was your old stomping ground. Hang in there bro, we are pulling for your recovery.

Thanks for all the kind words! I am finally feeling better today. Still really weak so not doing much yet. I haven't been able to take any pain medicine for 4 days so my back is really sensitive until I start back with that. John, you know I am really jealous of you hanging in my old hood!!!!! Man I love that place and miss it dearly!

Update!

Slowly getting better. I can tell when I did too much the day before. Like this morning. I have not cranked the boat since we were in Southport for the gathering. Yesterday I asked if Bridget could help me go hook it up and take it closer to a faucet so I could crank it. I had not even hooked it up to the new truck yet! So off we go and get there and back up and I realize the new 2500 Dodge is way higher than the Chevy was. So off to Auto Zone then Advance then Wally World. All 3 of them had no more than a 3 inch drop hitch. So back to the boat to lock it back up until I could go to the trailer place and get something that would work. I pull up to our old house( that we rent now) and I told the renter what was going on and he says hell just use mine off my truck! Yeah buddy! It even had a 2 5/16 ball! and a 5 1/4 drop. We hook it up, roll it over to the rental house and hook the hose. This thing hadn't been cranked in 3 1/2 months so I pumped the primer up then turned the switches on and pushed the key in and the starter just spins! Great!!!!! I try it again and the same thing, try it again and it catches but doesn't fire. Five more times cranking she starts to hit then finally catches and starts running really rough then dies. I crank it again and she lights off with what I considered very little smoke and proceeds to go into her very normal cold start procedure. Ran it for 30 minutes and not an issue and seems to be back to normal.
My only problem is after climbing in and out and getting the cover back on this morning I am really sore!!!! Next step is take her back up to Lanier and run the piss out of her!

Had my six month exam with my orthopedic guy yesterday. CT scan and guess what?

It has totally healed! 100 percent! Yeah its still stiff and I am way out of shape but, he gave me the okay to do anything I want. Boating, swimming, golf, lifting, running, did I say boating? When I left the building I jogged back to the parking lot, first time I have run since I was 15 years old.
