For those of you that use the transom bait box's how did you install a drain? I have the high speed pickup with and adjustable flow head and the overflow fittings up top. Not installed in this picture.

You got a gorgeous job :thumright:

Eugene at Shipoke recommends a basic transom plug at the inboard corner of each at the transom.

Open the top, lean over the transom, and pull the plug.

I'm assuming the drain would be in the bottom..!

I will probably grind the drain housing down so it will not protrude into the water. Or would it matter if the housing is dragging..??

In the bottom, aft of the pickup, I drilled a small hole. That's where I'll put the garboard drain. It will be in the "draft" of the pickup and probably won't matter if it sticks out.

He was saying thru the side, in the lower corner, directly above where the shadow of your camera appears.

Thanks Scott,

I was thinking on the side also. I would put it on the inboard side so it doesn't break up the clean look.

Just saw the boat pics, man, she looks GREAT!

Another idea on the box drains....Fitz came up with this, and it works great:

At the back inboard corner, but going straight out the back....install 2 ball scuppers.

(edit: right above where that dead fly sits back there  )

When you want to use them for bait, just plug the scuppers from the inside.

Otherwise, you can use the boxes for storage, and they never hold water, except for a little rainwater.

Any water that gets in...when you throw her on plane...runs straight out the back, boxes becomes totally dry :thumright:
