How's your's holding up?

Still good as new.

That's the deal there, my friend.  Wood is not inherantly bad, it's just the way us humans treat it sometimes...

On my 89 175 the transom is wood core, and there is wood core in the gunnels.

Take a look at the fuel hoses / vents, as new tanks sometimes don't fit well and there might be kinks etc that could be a pain in the ass.  Also check out the thru hull if it has one at all.

The tank sits in the cavity loosely. When the tank was empty, I could grab it and move it around about 2" in either direction. Water puddles up on the plastic and covers the sending unit's contacts. There was also a piece of wood in there that was laying on the tank (doesn't feel like it's attached to anything) that is completely rotten. There doesn't appear to be any kinks but I will keep my eyes open. Thanks!!
