not sure about the construction but I'm guessing that they were still using wood in 94. The tank is 27 gallons.

Look for soft deck spots near the console.

Wow, I would have thought that by then the transom would be poured for sure - why would they pour a '92 and not a '96 - in the same factory.
Now, mine is poured only to the top of the transom, not up the wings on the sides of the hull - that was wood.

checked out the boat yesterday, caulking was peeling around console and tank cover, gas tank is poly, not sure if original, looks to have been taking up at one time. Floor is spongy is a few spots, 85 Yamaha looks a little tired. compression was 95 95 105. Is is asking $4800 which is way to much.  Here is a the link..http://longisland.craigslist.org/boa/2659720840.html

Generally you want the compression within 5% of eachother, but 10 % is OK. That Yamaha is a work horse though, very simple and very easy to maintain.

The soft spots and caulking can be fixed, and is expected from a 16 year old boat, right? I wouldn't worry about that too much.

However, he/she is bats*it crazy asking $4800. IMO, High 3's should buy it.

Keep this in mind, fellas, when I left in '00, cockpit soles, gunnels, foredecks, cabin tops were still cored with end-grain balsa, with an occasional marine ply thrown in when lam ran out of balsa...that's from the 170 Osprey up to the 275 Explorer.  Transoms and stringers?  No wood...

Yes, Scott.  B/heads, cushion bases, bolster backing.  Marine ply, not cheap chit.

How's your's holding up?
