Who's found a use for THIS hatch?

I stack my tanks inside the center console and use sections of pool noodle and boat cushions for support,works and I don't have to drill any holes in anything,I do like the tackle storage idea,thats where I like to sit and rig lines,lots of room to spread out.

That's not a bad idea Pete... Of course that would mean I'd have to clean out that area!  That's where I keep my extra oil, boat soap, scrub brush, bucket, throwable ring, etc...

Say, since you've got a 225 also, could you do me a favor and measure the length of those piston rods that hold the front seat open?  Mine are gone on my 225, and I'd like to replace them, but need to get the right size strut, AND find the right brackets.

Yeah I just installed tackle storage in the port side of my 205 Osprey. Really works nice. Holds 4 Plano 3700 inserts. Paid $188.00 for it. If you want more info. let me know.

The struts extend 31-33 inches depending on if you are lifting the seat up or letting it hold itself up.The brackets are a simple piece of angle iron with a ball mounted on it and the lower is a ball bolted to the lower part of the fg console,the holes are probably still there.

I like the tackle drawer idea,will have to find one that will not be to wide for the space.

I'm pretty sure those struts were 40 lb. struts.  Attwood has them, I believe.  Check iboats...

The struts should have markings on it - easy to find and mine were 18 years old when I tried - and I think they were Attwoods like SB said.

Many times the decals with the ratings would come off or be made unreadable over the years.  Ameritool makes struts with the specs laser etched right in the cylinder surface, always be there...

Yeah, that would be nice, but my boat came with NO struts, so I'll have to go by the measurements I suppose. I've seen the gas struts at both Marine Surplus and Advance Auto. Will check iboats.  Hopefully they have the brackets too.

I replaced mine during the rehab, got them on ebay along with the ball mounts all in stainless, I will look at the tags on them and get back with you, SeaBob is right 40 Lbs, but I will get you the number of the sticker, they are still new.

Measure the extended length you need and Marine Surplus can order them new for you. Did for me.
