The vents on my hull are chrome. Skoot says his are white plastic. Badonq's says his are white plastic also. So which are original, chrome or plastic? You can still get the plastic ones at West. Mine are extremely corroded, not sure if I'm going to replace them or not. Facing the way they do seems like they will catch a lot of spray and with no bilge pump yet would dump water in and not get drained overboarduntil you pull the plug.

I took her out this weekend and the wind was howwwwling (Gusty NE-20-25mph)  The intercoastal had about 1' chop and she cut right through it, rode like a dream. (my last boat was a Carolina Skiff)  I ran the boat for about 3hrs, both idling and cruising speed.  She ran great, but I had to dump the brand new fuel/water filter twice in the 3hrs. The first dump, the gas was milky, second dump didn't look too bad.  Obviously theirs some gunk in the fuel tank.  Im about 99% sure my first major project is going to be replacing the fuel tank and all the fill/fuel lines.  Even with the fuel problems it was an awesome first trip.

Nice find!!!  Love the "original" plastic steering wheel with aquasport cap.

I am glad that you like the boat and would like to share a couple of thoughts with
you.  In the nine years that I had her, I never had a problem with water in the hull.
The scoops are original and are in the right direction.  You will not have a problem
with spray, but if you take a wave over the bow you could have a problem.  I thought
about a bilge pump, but then you run into wireing and discharge hose outlets.  I also
considered the results of a fuel leak and a possible spark from a wire joint or the pump.
Not a good result.  If you want to cut a hole in a good boat deck, consider a pump that
you can install when needed.  Put gator clamps on wire ends and a good discharge hose.
I believe that the gas situation will improve with more fresh fuel.

I hope you will enjoy the boat as much as I did.
