I think that was the Aquasport "Fisherman's Pack" with fish box, coller, live bait well, and battery storage. It says "slip in in the stern section and you have the greatest fishing machine ever. Take it out and you have a sizzling family ski boat." So it looks like that whole rear section is a removeable option. Never seen one, but I wonder if anyone has one or owns a boat with one...
