Hello all. Happy Spring!
I'm trying to tighten up the self-bailing cockpit on my 1975 19-6. The aft leadout of the cable trough is nothing but an oval hole in the sole. I'm pretty certain the trough doesn't drain into the bilge, but it collects water and debris. So I'd like to seal it up (and tidy things up) with a boot of some sort.
The former owner used a plastic roof vent flashing flange, which was actually . . . not bad. Especially because the bundle of hydraulic steering lines, battery cables, fuel line, etc, is pretty big, rigid, and wants to lay near the deck. I envision a split boot, but most products are designed for leadouts on vertical hull surfaces (which I briefly considered doing, but restrained myself). I'd prefer something that can be installed and removed without disconnecting the whole bundle, but I can do that if makes sense. Thanks in advance for any ideas.
