1981 222 ACTUAL Hull Measurement?
«

Good Morning all,
I put down a deposit with a gentlemen selling a 1981 Family Fisherman 222 deep Vee. Our marina (which has a waiting list) breaks down the slips by: small - equal to or less than 22 feet, medium - greater than 22 feet.
If this hull is equal to or less than 22 feet I can slide into the Small slip waiting list which is 1-2 years. If it is more than 22 feet I have 5 years or more to wait :( I'm not a fan of trailering boats.
Is anyone bored enough to measure their 222 from the "lifting rings on the transom to the furthest point on the bow." as specified by my city.
Thanks and thank you for having such a great forum!

The 222 stands for 22ft 2inches. However, I have the motor pulled off my 81’ and will see if I can get this measurement for you. It’s a CC model but the hull should be the same and serve for your needs.

Thank you. I asked the seller to measure but he hasn't gotten back to me yet.

Thank you. I came back to update the thread. The seller measured from the point on the bow to the rear of the transom and came up with 22'4". That might screw me. I hope not. . . I am going to go check compression today and if it's good I'm going to buy it. I hope I can find a slip for it. . .

The marina I slip my FF 19.6 they measure from tip of bow or pulpit to skeg with engine tilted up. So it ends up over 22 so they round it to 23 x rate per ft.

Well, I bought it. The compression numbers were all within 3 or 4 psi of each other. It was worth it. The boat is ROUGH. I will be asking for advice all over this forum.
Thank you.
The Harbormaster will measure it one day soon and let me know what he comes up with. I hope I can fit in the small slip or I'm going to have to pay 3 or 4 times what I thought.. .
