Hello, new to the forum and would love some help.
Boat is a 2002 225 aquasport explorer I purchased a little over a year ago. While removing drain plug in the fall I noticed the whole assembly slightly moved as I was removing the plug.
Has not leaked any water in or out of the hull, however watching the assembly twist a little doesn't sit well with me.
Questions for best route to take:
Should I replace old drain with new bronze garboard drain and plug with bronze screws and 4200? Epoxy old Screw holes and drill new holes?
Remove old garboard drain and plug, clean and reinstall?
I've searched and read I should use bronze ?? I believe. I see bronze drains and brass plugs, stainless and all bronze or all brass drain and plug assemblies. Any clarification would be greatly appreciated.
Boat is kept in the water from April to November in the north east.
