Basically those guys are just used to it.  A lot of nasty inlets down the coast (Boynton, Sebastian, etc.), I'm sure the first couple of times are hair-raising to say the least, but...

Bobs' right,these east coast inlets get nasty during full out or in tide changes.About 50 yards of rough water and then it smooths out.Only one way to get out,keep the bow up and pointed due east,with just enough power to get through,will definately put hair on your chest!You learn some serious boat handling skills in a hurry.There have been times when faced with really bad conditions I turned around and stayed inshore for the day.However sometimes you go out during a slack tide when the inlet is calm and come back in when it running and have no choice,you gotta get back in and run the gauntlet! :salut:
