Some of the photos are awesome looking.
Do they not know how to run in those conditions
or is it for show?

Both the Seacraft and the Jupiter were heading to the moon at one point!

Please someone inform Boatpix of what photographs SHOULD cost!  (and yes, I did take into account the cost of fuel for a chopper and it's still outrageous)

Yeah they are expensive but keep in mind the little R22 helicopters they usually use cost several hundred dollars per hour to operate.  100LL avgas is over $7 per gallon and a R-22 probably burns 13 gallons per hour (the way they fly it).  But the real expense is the massive number of life limited parts on a helicopter plus the 100 hour inspections for a commercial operator and of course insurance.  I believe the R22 has a TBO (Time Before Overhaul) of about 2200 hours.  The means at 2200 hours the helicopter and it's engine has to be overhauled.  I'm guessing this cost is a minimum of $125,000 dollars!  That is assuming the engine and everything else lasts until the full 2200 hour TBO time.

44 and 45... I work in the EMS business and guys that run like that will ensure that I always will have someone to go after..

If my father EVER suspected I ran a boat (didn't have to be his) like that, I would not be able to sit down on for a month beacause of the a$$ whupping for being stupid..

Oh well, it looks cool at least..

There was one pic of a little Whaler running it, with a young lady at the helm.

It is nasty there at the end. If you look offshore, it seems to settle out 60 yards down the line.

The next one south at PB may be worse.

I though our passes on the west coast got rough, they get nothing like that.
Does not look like fun getting out at all

Matt, the rock jetties make a huge difference. The one at Lake Worth Inlet ....like running a chute. Hard outgoing tide...hard winter NE wind blowing in....was on a 55 Rybovich on a sailfish trip, coming in that inlet one January, 20 some years ago.

It broached side-too, sliding down the face of one coming in. I swear it was an eighteen footer. But short....like a wave-pool at the kiddie water park.

Captain blew the approach, IMHO...then when we slid, he pulled the power. We were thrown across the cockpit like rag dolls. Crew members could have easily gone overboard.

That 55 foot Rybovich was thrown around like a plastic tugboat in your son's bathwater.

Get back to the dock ten minutes later, ask the captain about it...he acted as if nothing had happened.

But his face was still white.

Great pics & a nice price too.  Jupiter gets a lot nastier than that, hang around & watch on a day when 99% of the boats don't go out, someone will eventually go for it.
