Thankfully all friends and family are okay.  Losses were from total destruction to just a few trees down in my nephew's yard but no bodily harm at all to anyone that we know.  Some of our kid's friends were trapped in their basement for 3 days but finally got out with nothing worse than needing a bath.

By the way, we did not know them but there were 11 people hunkered down in our old house in the picture.  No serious injuries.

JJ, thank you.

Guys, some may think different thoughts. Completely understandable. Its the Internet.

We saw the pictures that first night. Then the national pics/vids the next day. Terrible devastation.

Here is a documented case of need. Just that...need. Everyone has needs, absolutely. But do my needs consist of a 3 inch steak versus a 2 inch steak...or any kind of steak to give a kid a steak for one night?

Or some clean clothes...or a pillow?

The church above, the congregation needs our help. Its ground zero guys...its not administered by a fat-cat CEO at a huge "non-profit" private entity.....just good, hard-working regular folk like us. Our donations, however small, will go straight into JJ's community, without waste or fraud.

Ten bucks, twenty bucks, fifty bucks etc...I urge you to help these folks through their church. And what's fifty bucks to us...put it in perspective...a quart of WEST epoxy??

Swing the bat, brothers. Do it in the morning. Feel good about helping others. Put on the check "John Jones family, Classic Aquasport". If we all do this...we can make a difference for them. Thanks.

Guys,

Just spoke with Reverend John Gates at the church. He was very happy and grateful for our donations.

He said to mark anywhere on the envelope or check "Tornado Victims" and he would personally distribute it to the most needy. Thanks.

JJ,

Received a nice letter today from Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, Pleasant Grove, Alabama.

They have turned most of PGUMC into a disaster relief staging area. Last Thursday, they served over 400 lunches.

Donations go straight to helping those families without homes. Most of their town was destroyed.

'Nuff said. Please, let's do what we can. All may need help like this one day.

JJ,

Received by mail the receipt from your church today. Unfortunately still off the national radar. God Bless.
