Tell us about the cast net....damn if I don't love a nice cast net.

Well it's a 8ft 3/4" mesh calusa all hand made even the hole i guess  they usually run $240-250 found it at the show for $200 so i bit, been wanting one for years but never could justify that kind of money, finally say the hell with it, i want it and know this,i sent them an email sat night so will see, today is the first business day since so if no word by tomorrow i'm gonna call and beat that bush and see what happens.

Those Calusas's have always had a good name. Soft and throw good too. Your eight foot with the big mesh should make a great mullet net in running water and wind. Hope they make it good.

Seabob, speaking of geneology, when the doc took a look at me, he said hmm, looks that the zygote doesn't fall far from the petri dish....

No problemo mi hermano. They make a nice net, and this will be an easy-throwing shrimp/bait net, not too big on the boat.

Would like to pass this along, makes the hobby more enjoyable:

As a final soak, put your cast net in a 5 gallon bucket of water and cheap generic fabric softener. Weigh net down with a brick, etc. Let soak overnight, rinse lightly, hang up to drip-dry. Store dry.

Softens up the mono, flies open on the next trip, and prevents breakdown.

Put my dock lines in a bucket with fabric softener yesterday.  Will rinse and dry today.
