222 Fuel Tank Location

  Originally the boat was a FF model but I'm converting to center console, full transom, with a porta bracket. The tank will be a 60 gallon moeller poly tank. Can anyone give me an idea of how far from the transom I should locate the fuel tank on my 222?

I'd like an idea of how far from the transom to locate the console as well. Thanks for your help.

Ulysses: The hull is a 78 22FF. I’m putting it back together as a center console with a full transom and a Porta bracket. So I’m not to sure about locating the fuel tank.

Mine was a 77FF so the dimensions should be close. My tank is 60" long and the back end of it is 8' from the transom. The front ended up right where the stringers stepped up at 13' from the transom. Seems to be well balanced to me.
