Beefy looking hulls.  I was w getting ready to give them a call since it has been a year since I last called up there!  The specs sound good.  I'd like to see a picture of the stringer grid though.

The deck boat is a good idea in today's market.  Hope it's not a rebranded Ebbtide.  (it probably is)

I see one of their dealers is Source 1 in Hudson (right up the street from Pelican, Bruce).  Not a particularly impressive dealership...

I agree that the stringer system would be nice to see.  Some of their site is still not finished so maybe later.

What model/year Hydra-Sport hull(s) does this best fit?

2000 on up, at least.  Here's a boat test of an '06 2200 Vector, same boat...http://www.boattest.com/boats/boat_video.aspx?id=1118

OK and it was (is) available with the different caps so a DC and WAC is doable.

I wonder if Ebbtide makes them like this?

Entirely possible, CB.  Other than the use of kevlar, the processes shown in the video are pretty standard fare for a quality builder.  The concept of cutting the glass to fit via the CNC router is nothing new, however many builders will have a company like DIAB cut and label the glass for them (shipped in boxes, so the "boat in a box" concept is the same), keeps builders from having to make the investment in the CNC equipment...

That's interesting stuff. It appears to me (anyway) that it would create a fairly strong hull. If the specs you linked to are similar for the hull, it's fairly light (relatively speaking) and easy to power. A guy I know had his 84 CCP since new and replaced it with a Hyrda hull in 2000. He really liked the ride but then again there was quite a bit of time between the two. Still, it will be interesting to see what this becomes. When you look at the rebuilds here, they're similar to the original in appearance (and that changes too) only.

I would imagine the price points that Ebbtide is going to be shooting for will have a lot to do with how the boats are laid up regarding lam schedule.  Hydra-Sports were very lam heavy in the hullsides, there was a VERY noticible difference in hullside flex (without the deck on) between Hydras and Aquas.  But we all also know that the cost of laminations and laminating agents has skyrocketed over the past 5-10 years, so builders have to be very aware as to what they are putting into a boat, and where that is going to place it, price wise, in the market.

Aquasports were always known for being a great value, big bang for the buck, so to speak.  I would think Ebbtide would want to continue that tradition.  So we'll see what their approach is once real product starts hitting the market, and feedback from real owners starts to pour in...

I remember when Hydrasports introduced the Vector series. This boat, the 2390, and the 2500. They were big, beefy, and rode like a dream. Dry too. Basically made for the King Mac tourney guys, when small boats were still the norm.

Johnson Marine here in town was Hydrasports #1 dealer for several years running. They sold a bunch of them, the owners were happy with them all, especially the 2500.

Little side-note....Clayton Kirby, he of Fountain fame, was Hydrasports' first sponsorship on the tourney trail.

Just searching some old specs on NADA.

Hard to get apples to apples but a 23 in 96 with a 9'+ beam was in the 4K range dry so looking at the spec on the 2300 at 3900# but only an 8'-6' beam seems fairly stout. I also noticed in 2000 they fielded a 24' with a 9'-4' beam weighing in over 5k.  I'd think the new ones would ride fairly well at 3900#. I'm guessin' they won't be supper cheap but then what is nowadays.  :(

You're not going to get an AS at Carolina Skiff prices, if that's what you're saying, CB.  But if Ebbtide sticks to the premise that really Genmar started, you'll get a stoutly built boat with most of the standard features others charge extra (a LOT extra) for, at an attractive price.  If they continue the Tournament Master concept and packages, it gets even better.

It's all gonna be up to Ebbtide...
