CB,

That 5000 pound plus 24 Hydrasport runs good....if you can get it out of the hole. Friend of mine had one with a Yamaha F250. Absolute dog setup, that boat needed twin 175's minimum.

So ummm what is this??? I am confused. Is Aquasport coming back? Or is this some other company just bought the name, and is making completely different boats?

(although, no matter who makes it, that deckboat version is EXACTLY the boat I want! It looks like it even has bait wells in the swim platform...

Wonder how much it will cost?

/edit will that Deckboat is definitely the Ebbtide 2100... although I wasn't even aware they made deckboats, they never came up in any of my searches, because they call them "Fun Cruisers"...

but at 40k base price (without a trailer), a dream I will never be able to afford... :(

Is it just me, or have boats just become outrageously expensive? Even for small ones.

Yes and no.
Aqua as you once have known it no............ but,
When Aquasport was swallowed by Genmar, the original (Hialeah style hulls) did change. While it had different "scheduling" while being constructed along side Wellcraft hulls, the brand was indeed influenced by and even used WC hulls branded as Aquas. Following that line then yes, Aquasport is coming back.

A long time boat building company Ebbtide, has purchased molds and I'm guessing the Aquasport brand rights and is building yet another generation of the name. True, the hulls are older Hydra Sport molds purchased after the closure of HS, they are not unlike the Genmar Aquas that at the very least used styling designs from WC hulls and in the case of the 215 EX, the same hull exactly as the 210 Coastal. So while on the surface it seems strange, it's not that big of a stretch to understand what Ebbtide is doing. Add to a popular hull, the Aquasport brand and this may be a good marketing strategy. HS was known for their toughness and Aqua for it value. Sounds like a win-win to me. Remember, at one time Genmar owned both brands and if they had survived, maybe they would have done the same thing.

One thing I noticed from the link. They are now called Aqua Sport Boats. Which possibly indicates some lack of closure on the branding.

On the other hand, the boat is pictured with the second gen Aquasport logo.

hahaha first thing that ran through my head was "man, it's a hydrasport.......a really F*cking ugly hydrasport". I was correct.

I used to be a dealer for Ebbtide, nice boats. Didnt have much of a "Name" in the north so we dropped them after a season.

So, When Yamaha owned Cobia and Centry, they were absolute garbage. Quality was crap, the ride was crap, everything was crap.....ouside of the powerplant.

When Maverick bought Cabia and threw the old molds on the scrap pile, they did it right. They found a name, and built something WAY better. The company is selling  like hotcakes.

http://www.cobiaboats.com/

Aquasport has a name for sure, but why not make something new? Sure, it's not your grandfathers Aquasport, but is is your A$$hole uncle's Hydrasport, who overpaid for what he got, but think's hes hot s*it.

I dunno, the hydraspots and now AS look like tubs. 23 foot boat with 10 feet of freeboard. This is all my opinnion of course, and is completely worthless.

Ebbtide did have the registered trademark for Aquasport as you can see in this link...  but it does say it has been abandoned...  strange

So, I see not too many fans of the new Aquasport/Ebbtide boats.  Yes, they use the Hydrasport hull and yes, they have a high freeboard, both of which are positives in my view.  The new 2100 is a beast of a boat!  Tips the scales at 3500lbs before you add the power, fuel and people.  It have a Kevlar lined hull and a ceramic poured transom.  Fit and finish are excellent because Ebbtide really knows how to build a quality boat.  I am 6'4" so the freeboard is awesome not to mention it keeps the little ones safe inside.  No, I am not a dealer, rather a guy who is a proud owner of a new 2100.

More pics please and did they give you a catalog and owners manual that you'd be willing to share scans of?

First Dave......

Congrats.  :thumright:

While this site is titled Classic Aquasport its current leadership has embraced all model Aquas.
We are indeed interested in the latest models. By all means, continue to post pics but most importantly the ride and performance of your hull.

Speaking strictly for myself, having owned 4 hulls both Hialeah and Genmar, I'm extremely interested in the new model. This Forum, at least from my standpoint is thirsty for anything concerning Aquasport.

Good luck!

Its just too bad that they wont reproduce the 222.  I for one would be interested in buying one.

Glad to see some other folks not "hating" on the new Aqua-Hydrasports ;-)   So far so good with mine.  Only have about a dozen hours but with the 200 Etec it has good power.  Runs around 44MPH but I am going to re-Prop to get more RPM.  Maxing at 4900 with the 18 pitch.  Might squeeze a few more MPH's??  If I had to do it over, I would bump the the 250 or even 300 Etec but really no issues with the 200.  I live in Charleston, SC so running in the harbor in 1-2' chop, she handles like a dream!  Love the stiffness and overall "beef" that this boat has.  Just installed a pair of Simrad G07's (one dedicated to Charts/GPS and the other to Depth).  Cant wait to take it out this weekend.  I will post more pictures once I figure out how to do it.
