Bulkhead fitting question
« on: November 05, 2012, 10:28:17 AM »
I started a thread in classifieds for strain relief fittings. Dirtwheels fl found what I was looking for at thmarine-"Bulkhead strain relief".

Now I question if I even need them.

Product info states "only bulk hose can pass through this fitting - premade hoses with end fittings cannot pass thru"

I am using Porta premade hose to Porta bulkhead fitting for the bracket and SeaStar hose to SeaStar bulkhead fitting for steering.

Do I need any strain relief or am I good to go?

Thanks.

If you ordered the bulkhead fittings for the Portabracket, then you should not need the T-H fittings.

Yes, its gotta be one or the other. Cant put the strain reliefs over any kind of fittings. Bulkheads are nice because should the hose get damaged between the ram and the bulkhead, only that small section needs to be replaced. But you also have more points that can leak versus just a one piece hose from helm to ram, with the strain relief and removable end.

Youve got the bulkheads, use em :thumright:
