gelcoat question / help
« on: May 01, 2006, 04:18:57 PM »
So I purchased this '95 17.5 Osprey that is in just outstanding condition - except from where the previous owner tried to mount downriggers and totally butchered the installation and patch job.

One of the places that I stand when I cast (we fly fish out of the boat in salt) is on the rear quarter deck hatches.  they are particularly screwed up and my cast is not pure, nor can I be one with the salmon if I am standing on a tainted surfce.  However if I fall in from that position I would be one with the salmon.

A call to Spectrum indicated that they could match the color, min. of one gallon.  I'll use about a cup of this stuff.  Does anone have a need for the rest?  Does anyone have other ways to skin this cat?

I hate to see it go to a landfill.

Thanks.

You can get a small repair kit from West Marine:

If you've a reasonable eye for color you can likely get good results.
