john, had a pleasure meeting you. got in a accident in ft myers on the way back. guy hydroplaned and spun out in front of me and i t-boned his front fender.

luckily everything to my truck was cosmetic. the other guy's car, not so much... it towed the boat home just fine, just the headache of dealing with the insurance companies. otherwise, tomorrow is a new day

Too bad you have to go through the headaches of the insurance companies. Maybe you can buy the parts yourself and pocket some cash toward the rebuild

Not sure if insurance companies have to write a check to an autobody shop or if you can get it written to you.

fern, thats the part that made me jump on it. i was interested in scott's "miss peach tree" but i would have been back at square one: ripping out the deck and transom, so i backed away from that one. this one is already gutted, and the hull itself is a good skin to start with,

bob, i didnt get a citation, im not sure if the other driver got one or not. we both gave the officer the same story, swapped info, gave us each a copy of the report, and he sent me on my way. i contacted the driver's insurance company as soon as i got home and got a claim number, should hear back in a day or so to see what will come of it...
