« on: September 11, 2012, 03:41:55 PM »
Is there a resource that sells the deck lids with the gasket and the channel (which can be glassed into the deck) to make an in deck compartment water tight?

Rabud's offshore series are pretty close to water tight.  I had two in the splashwell of my 200XF and my bilge stayed dry.

tax, just to be clear, neither product can be glassed in. They are both UV resist ABS plastic.

Both products work well however when properly bedded :salut:

Tax, some folks over the years have also enjoyed the Jim Black hatch. All shown are quality products.

Don't know your cutout needs, but have a brand new 22 X 14 twin cam Beckson in ivory white if this helps. It is shown on Seabob's link.

Water tight was not a good choide of words  Keeping chit dry is what I mean.  I was thinking more along the line of what you see in new boats.  When you open their in deck compartments and storage compartments they are fairly dry. Their lids/hatches appear to be manufactured as part of the deck or liner. The gaskets around the openings are Trim-Seal.  I thought I had read that there were some manufacturers who made the hatch/lids and the frame.  The frames are glassed in. When finished the hatch/lid looks factory installed and does not look like and after-market product.

I'll be talking with a builder today, and ask if he's heard of those.
