A friends bad 3 week with boats

Honest to God guys this is the truth....cross my heart.

Started out 3 weeks ago .
Our crab season opened and a buddy  hauled his 24' SeaSport out of storage....smelled gas ...tank needed replacing.
He was told it would take 3 weeks to get a new tank installed...he couldn't wait...he went out and bought a 17' Coho, older Whaler copy.
Well the engine needing  some work so he took it to a shop, $700 later it's good to go
He Launched the Coho and put it in his slip where he normally kept his SeaSport.
Next morning he gets a call from the Harbor master....the Coho has sunk. lower outboard mounting bolts where not sealed......I myself have  been there and done that
Well my buddy says screw this  boat and decided to wait till he gets his SeaSport back.
He gets his SeaSport back and upon  launching he forgets that 6 months ago a shop replaced all the rollers on the trailer. While he unhooked the tow strap and safety cable in the parking lot and proceeded to back the boat down the ramp.....needless to say you all know what happened
boat ends up on the concrete ramp... which cracked the lower unit of the Volvo Duo prop, which was replaced along with the engine just short of a year ago.
Any hows... last week he gets a call from the shop doing the outdrive repairs.... SeaSport is ready to go, his son picks it up from the shop...launches it without any problems....ties it up in the slip.
I'll give you all 2 guesses what happened next, first one don't count

He had just had a brand new Yammy 4 stroke kicker, Garmin TR1 auto pilot for the kicker, all new Garmin electronics,radar, gps ect installed this summer. He hadn't even had a chance to use them yet.

The drain plug was in
After the boat was hauled out they found that the bilge pump wasn't hooked up  
Either the shop that installed the fuel tank or the shop that had worked on the out drive removed the pump and forgot to reconnect the wiring
They haven't determined yet where she's was leaking

My buddy ain't placing blame on anyone. That's what you got insurance for.

Back in the 70s my uncle had a boat with a Mercruiser I/O.  He put it in the shop to have the CV joint in the drive shaft replaced.  The next time he put it in the water it sank overnight.  Mechanic had left a hose clamp loose.

...and probably put he hose on the barb only to the first ring.  Soon as any water pressure hit it, popped right off.  I find that except for the smooth barbs on bilge pumps and livewell pumps, I have to heat the hose to get it fully on the barb.  Once it cools down, one wouldn't even need any hose clamps, that hose ain't coming off unless you want it to...
