OMC ficht injected motors ?????????????????

Ok I know I’m a dollar late and a dollar short some times. But I just heard something about a fixs for the OMC ficht injected motors and parts that are available. Has anyone else heard anything about this ???????? Or is this some ones over active imagination.   :?:

I see no one jumped on this. It might have something to do with the fact that "warranty" work for these motors happened some time ago. I've never owned one and don't follow them now (duh). Google search turns up plenty on this subject but it appears to be circa early 2000-2003.

Maybe some of the piston heads here can shed some light.

Your opening sentence (a day late) may hold a clue. :wink:

I'm pretty sure BRP did some re-designing of the piston skirts and possibly the oiling passages to better enhance piston cooling at the point where the Ficht injection crossed over from the atomized state to the homogeneous state.  I do know that BRP Fichts didn't/don't suffer the same fates as the OMC Fichts...

I know OMC tried to come up with a fix, But it never worked. I just thought I missed some thing resent.  Every one of those motors I see, is sit on a rack as assembled parts. I don’t see any of them being run up here. :D
