FL and AL are no longer in the cone for what that's worth.  I'm sure we will get some crappy weather being on the east side.  I'm not too worried about anything other than an extended power failure but then again there are always east side tornadoes.  I'm driving my mom to my brother's up near Birmingham this morning.  At nearly 84 I she doesn't need to sit here for days without A/C.  I'll be back late afternoon or early evening.

Amen :salut:

The good news is she's running fast. John remembers Floyd up here....moving N at 3 mph

22 inches of rain in six hours.

I was in Law Enforcement when Floyd hit.  33 days straight of 12 hour shifts    Half of our town was underwater for months :!:

I also rememebr last year with no power for close to a week waiting for a generator to show up which never did.  Scott remembers this

All joking aside, you guys be safe :salut:

I hope it keeps tweaking westward.

AMEN John "go west young man"....  Just got through picking up and putting up, I have a 400 person BBQ catering on 1 sept (next Saturday) so this crap needs to be done and over with...  The drama of TWC is really getting to me, oh god... It's awful! The end is near.... Just this afternoon I was sitting out back drinking a beer and I guess it was an outer band that came screaming through... Probably at least a 10 or maybe even a 15  mph gust, it blew my styrofoam plate of pretzels off the table, I ducked just in time to avoid a laceration from the plate...

Jagged styrofoam, in a 15 knot gust...lethal, my friend!!!  Unless it stayed in one piece, then becomes a frisbee with really chitty flight characteristics...

The pretzels?  Category 18!!!!!!!!  DUCK!!!!

I'm back from Birmingham.  Light traffic for the most part.  Lots of RVs and boats headed north on I-65.  Almost no one headed south.  My brother lives off of I-59.  Hundreds and hundreds of lineman bucket trucks headed south on I-59 as well as hundreds of tree trimming bucket trucks, large portable generators, cell towers on trailers,  all the support equipment one could imagine.  The weather here is about like Marc's except I didn't even have a chair blow over.  Zero rain all day.

Think we just had our last little reminder of Isaac, JJ.  A little cell came up N out of Pinellas, through Pasco, tornado warnings, damn thing wasn't but a few miles wide with nothing around it!

Good luck, my friend, looks like an NO landfall...Grand Isle

Yep,

Bob,
Was working at Martin-Marietta then.  That next Sunday morn, we had easily 30 tractor trailers loading up with stuff we employees had brought in to ship down to Homestead...everything you could think of...no one got paid, no one even thought about it.  Sunday morn following the storm, just tried to help...

Remember that ALL too well...

It's still huffin and puffin here but not like last night.  Very little rain here.  Just a sideways drizzle now and then.  My only damage so far is twigs in the yard like after a good summer thunderstorm.

In Baton Rouge the weather is going down hill fast. I hope Issac will pick some speed up and get out of hear. The weather is predicting up to 22" of rain for the next 48 hrs.

Power just went out gust up to 50-70 mph. Got the generator running the house.

Good luck, my friend!  How will 22" of rain affect your house and neighborhood?  We had 18" over about a day and a half here at our place from Debby, but believe it or not, we are on high ground (yep, here in FL!), so no probs...

We lucked out only 8'-10" of rain. Could have been alot worse. The rivers around here are really high but where I live no problem with that kind of rain. Just got our power back on yesterday afternoon after calling entergy everyday and a niebore going down to their office and bitching.

I feel for the residence of La Place that live near lake Ponchatrane they flooded real bad from for the first time.
