Scott where did you find a 3" 30 degree elbow... Heck Im a pool guy and I don't have those? Is it a boat rigging thing?

They do exist but not at Lowes.

Ryan, thanks! I said to my wife yesterday, I love this little boat more than any boat I've ever run. Just something about it...the lines, the twins, the thumbs-ups...but the main thing is the way it rides. Very stable, very predictable. It is an absolute pleasure, and we are really enjoying her.

Yep, they may be a little wet in a hard wind....but that's okay.  Pull it back, no biggee. They weren't meant to be azz-whippin' speed demons.

Been a little while since I have been on. I have a lot of catching up to do on some of the guys rebuilds.

Here are a few pics of the latest progress. I have not had that much time to work on it the last couple months.

I have read some of the things I had planned on doing at the start of this rebuild and its funny to me how much I have learned and changed my mind. I guess that just goes to show you to leave your options open and be open minded as you go through your rebuild.

Hey, great progress  :salut:  This is the time of the year, here, to make some good progress.
Looks like you raise the sole a few inches,

Welcome back, Ryan!  I was starting to get a little worried!

She is coming along nicely!  Stringers and bulkheads look great, and I see you have the cap back on with some supports as well - good progress!  And I agree fully about the open mind.  There are quite a few things that are different on mine than originally planned.  Unfortunately many of them were done one way, and then removed and done a different way.  Not very efficient....

Does the pool business slow down for you during the winter?  If so, as Rick said, tis the season :thumleft:

Yes sir, nice weather helps a lot. I have it raised almost 3 inches. I didn't want to lose the freeboard but I want it to drain well and like the thought of nice deep storage lockers.

I have some temp supports for the cap right now. I wanted the sides pulled back in when I start to do the sole layout.  I will build them up and make them less visable for the finished product.

Pool business is busy as ever, my snowbird customers come in and my commercial work goes crazy in the winter. Its a great problem to have for sure.

Im curious what most of you are going to use for rigging tube size? I had planned on two tubes, one on each side of the console 3" with 45's, but I tried 2.5" with 45's and it worked just fine for my cables and such. Any thing Im missing or any opinions?

Man I have been checking out some of your glass work and you and RickK both make me feel like Im a two year old with his first finger paint set. Your guys stuff is pretty impressive. I like to refer to my work as rough carpentry, sturdy but not so pretty at times.

Got a good phone call today as well, Tommy has my livewell all crated up and will be on loaded on a semi Monday am. Pretty excited to get that back to the casa and check it out.

Only reason I went with the tubes I have is because my transom will remain open so i had to get over to the outboard side of the stringers sometime and the throttle shifting cables have pretty long, hard ends on them that have to make the bend, so I went 2" into 3" with 45.
Oh and thanks for the compliment.  :salut:

I went with two 3" PVC pipes.  Not that I actually need them that big, but I ran them inside the stringers so they also serve to displace some of the foam.  I may also run a smaller pipe from the front of the bilge straight forward to under the console, depending on how much room I have after installing the freshwater tank and hoses for the livewell.

And I agree: Rick, Carl, and others are doing exceptional work.  Mine definitely isn't as pretty.  I just hope it is strong.

Craig, with all of the great guidance....the Fireboat can't help but be strong.

Don't know how the rest of you feel...but my thinking is we've kicked it up a notch. The engineering has been fine-tuned.

And on the production end...vacuum-bagging of moderate to large parts is icing on the cake.

The rebuild forum is the real deal lately. Great work guys :thumright:

Ryan, unless there is some contractual agreement not to, can you please post some good detail pic of the inside and plumbing system for your livewell? I keep going back and forth on how I want to build my tank and I would like to see how they do theirs.

Thanks.
Carl

Do you guys know where you are going to mount the livewell?  I mean, how much space between your console and your livewell?  I need to figure out where the plumbing will penetrate the deck so that I can plan accordingly.
