They told me not to leave in any longer than 3-4 days you are correct.  I never leave my boats in the water at all longer than 3 days.  I don't know how many coast but will ask.  I would guess 3-4.

Reason I ask is I will be rebuilding my 170 and am going back and forth on whether to re-gel the outside of the hull or go with paint. I don't usually leave the boat in the water overnight but once I rebuild and give it some real ways to drain water I won't have to worry if I do leave it in and it rains. I'm looking for the slickest finish.

Rick, the way the gel turned out on my junk, and the pics are decent, but to look at even better....I'd go with the gel. You get dock rash, scratches etc...you can mash a buffer on it, not a problem. And should go 20 years easy.

In the meantime, and you mentioned slick....its like looking in a mirror.

I think Awlgrip is a two part epoxy paint.  I don't know much about it but I do know they mix the paint with a thinner and activator.

Updated photos.  Very happy with the work so far as usual.  The green on the t-top is a non-corrosive primer.  Then they put on a regualr primer then paint.  See the lean post that is oyster white.  Looks amazing.

Floor almost ready to go in.

What kind of white paint was used in the bilge area? Was  a primer used?

Its a 2 part bilge epoxy, they only use the best epoxies!  Never any Polyester.  Bob told me something like 12 times the bonding strength over polyester?

Corner of 520 and A1A...
