1974 Aquasport 22-2 Rebuild
« on: August 01, 2012, 09:20:32 PM »
Today was a long day, but purchased the boat and got her home.  Here are some pics as she sits now.  Got a few things to do before the actual rebuild starts, hopefully it won't be too long.  Going to part out a couple things, which I will post in the classifieds.

How far down are you going down with it? Are you going to strip the floor out?  Are you going to make it a full transom? Are you going to install a porta bracket? Thanks!  :)

The boat will get totally torn down.  Yes, I am going to make it a full transom and have a porta bracket.  Many other things as well.  I can already see this is going to be a very long process but should be well worth it.

Ok E,
Just to let you know I am working on a 22-2 myself, and I am hopefully going to be assisting my nephew with a 75 240 seahunter. I also plan on getting ready to make a mold for the full deck, so a new deck (stock replacment) can be just dropped in after the stringers are redone. Good luck with it and I will catch you later.

    Thanks Gran,
You are a heck of a nice guy. I hope the buckets of chicken are plentiful for you.

Curious, does the above pic of the HIN# tell us anything besides the make and year?

The last three characters, 74C, means she was made in October of '74.

Thanks.

Also, anyone think there would be any interest in the bait boxes on the transom or the console.  I won't be using either, but not sure of their value.

Whats going on with the old Merc? Is she going to be replaced? What is the horsepower and does it run?

The blackmax w/ controls is being sold too.  Its a 200, unk year, unk last run, possibly locked in the trim up position.  I was told the motor is not locked up.  Prop spins freely and steering turns.  I wont be attempting to see if it runs.

Fitz, if you look closely you'll see it's a 200.  :thumright:

Got it Fernando,

Assuming original cowling, looks like late 80's split cowling 2.4 liter. Interested for a parts motor if you're gonna pitch it.

Pulled the old Blackmax off today and sold it.  One step at a time this will get done.  Next is getting the boat back off the trailer that I borrowed to pick it up.
