Boating with fellow CAS member woody
« on: July 27, 2012, 09:55:13 PM »
Fellow member woody called me yesterday and said he was in town for a couple of days. He said he wanted to see my 222 since he was staying about 2 miles from here. I told him why don't you meet me at my house in the morning and we'll go up to lanier and ride around and check the lake out. So we did.

Real nice morning on the lake.

Water is really clear this time of year. We found one spot that was 144 ft deep.

Lookin' sweet!

Know Woody enjoyed the trip.

Constructive recommendation....consider a small Shakespeare "squatty body" VHF antenna opposite the GPS on the upper console grabrail. Will free up the starboard gunnel for casting. Will look better too, IMHO.

Not a knock...just a thought :thumleft:

Glad ya'll got together :thumright:

I really enjoyed seeing Lewis, his SWEET 222 and a great morning boat ride. I really miss my old 19-6 and the feel of a bigger boat. With the hydraulic steering system on Lewis' boat, it handles so nice!  I'm thinking about moving back into a 19-6 or even a 22-2. Anybody want a real nice 175 or trade an older 19-6 for my 1996 175?
THANKS Lewis for a great morning on Lanier in your cool AS!!

Do it Woody!  19-6 would be perfect, 22-2 more for offshore.  You living up there now?

I was in Atlanta area on pleasure/work trip. I tried one winter in Atlanta and scooted my old salty b*tt back to Florida as fast as I could. I'm in Nokomis (between Venice and Sarasota) now and the only thing that would get me out of there would be a come-hither look from Emmy Lou and then it would only be temporary!

Lew, I'm glad you named the subject the way you did... If you had titled it "Boating with Woody" I wouldn't have read it!
