Console/livewell spacing?
« on: July 04, 2012, 11:22:19 AM »
Mocking up everything....installing a Dorado-style sit on top oval livewell.

For you guys that own them....how far apart are the two parts (rear of console to front of livewell)

Thanks :thumright:

Scott,
Somewhere between 18" and 21".  Girth challenged obviously have to consider further, but that is typical.  What are you going to have for a footrest when sitting?  Molded in, either in the aft face of the console or the forward face of the livewell, or a fold down type?

Good deal, thanks SB. Right now we are around 19 inches.

Rode up to Onslow Bay this morning. Their leaning posts are only 15 inches from the console....which kinda freaked me.

Footrest...Have been thinking about that. Someone....can't remember who...makes a fiberglass one that inserts in the console at the base. Which would work because the console opens on the side. Would rather have that than the type that folds down.

Bob, you have any idea where to source an insert-style footrest?...thanks bud :thumright:

Our console is 27 inches wide....will try and find a footrest insert around 20 inches wide.

Thanks SB.

thats robbery for that thing!

make yourself a nice teak "pad" i call em. basically 2 triangular pieces of wood vertically oriented and screwed to the console thru the back, and then a board goes across them for your feet to sit on. a few coats of epoxy and clear poly and shell look good.

found a pic of one i did on a 57.

Good thinking, good lookin', tx dw.

For posterity's sake....on your Aquasport...what is the distance you chose between the console and livewell?

Thanks :thumright:

Mine is 18" from flange to flange and that distance works great for me. But an inch or two more certainly wouldn't hurt.  Looking forward to Ms. D being completed Scotty.  :salut:

Ive been on Fernando's boat and its set up really nice.  I personally cant give you an exact distance, but I can tell you that, Fernando and You are very close in height and build. Brotha's from anotha Motha  :afro:  Not sure if that helps, but sounds like your on the right track.

Thanks Fern, thanks Scott!

I kinda figured we were about the same size, judging from the pictures you guys took earlier in the year.

Only one thing...Fern doesn't have a BIG GUT like me....maybe I should allow an extra inch
