Worth it!

It's still a work in progress and there's a lot left to do but this is what it's all about!  Stay tuned because I plan to get some blood on the deck this summer.  The way the bait and water temps are around here lately, it should get interesting!

Get them started early, with lots of practice.  Teach them safety, rules of the road.  Docking, currents, wind, loading and launching.  All completely legal, and soon they will become excellent Captains...

Absolutely. Our dad's taught us the same, and there ya go.

I can't wait until my boys get to that age when I can take them out like that.  Having a two year old and a six month old cuts into the boating time.  But this reminds me that it is and always will be worth it.  Thanks

My youngest one pretty much drove the whole way back to the dock.  When I told him to head for the red buoys he took it literally and tried to run them over.  I kept telling him "Red Right Returning" so much that he finally got sick of hearing it.  He did a great job and had no problem getting the hang of the steering. Of course I was standing right behind him ready to yank the throttle back.  
akbridge-  I remember those days.  Each milestone was a huge step.  Once they learn to walk on their own and poop without a diaper you start to get your freedom back!

Guys, thanks for all the feedback and encouragement on here.  My goal was to get it bare bones in the water for the (short) summer season, feel it out, get used to it, and then address more issues this winter.  Gas tank, wiring, electronics, transom slashwell........
