New Group and Group Leader
« on: June 24, 2012, 11:29:40 AM »
It is with great pleasure that we add a new Specialty Group - the Mechanical Master - with a great group leader - fitz73222 - to this site.
Fitz has been a member since Nov 10, 2009 and has been a steady contributor on most topics pertaining to anything mechanical. Fitz has many years experience in solving mechanical problems for his customers, be it medical, aerospace and defense.
Quote
This group is for the members that are mechanically minded and aren't afraid to bust a knuckle in the quest to understand and repair some mechanical beast, no matter what it is. Members of this group may have specialties in some motors but not all. When a member displaying this usergroup "badge" under their username comes into a topic you can expect great advice because they have "been there, done that". They're also smart enough to not post in a topic they're not familiar with.
This was a tough group to create and name.  We have a group for members that have done a full rebuild, and one for rigging.
We have tons of members and each of them, for the most part, have some specialty they are really good at.  We have some members that are good at several things, so it's been a struggle to include them in a single group. I hope no one has been offended so far. This new group is open to members that have a specialty or specialties that they can offer up to the membership and are willing to help members with - primarily mechanical.  I have asked Fitz to lead this group and he has some members in mind that he will reach out to soon to join him in helping the general membership.  I hope the members he asks for help jump onboard and wear the "badge" proudly.  You can also apply to be in the group - click on the Mechanical Master item in the legend and PM Fitz for that.
Again, thanks for all the help Fitz and congrats  :salut:
Join me in congratulating "Fitz" to his new position as group leader.

I must say, I am quite humbled by being given this opportunity to serve in this role on our forum. There are others in our collective that I hold in very high regard as authorities in the technical side of our passion whom I will solicit to join me with the responsibility of leading, guiding and directing anyone who needs a hand understanding a challenge within our respective strengths. I also realize that this opportunity has its responsibility to uphold our values and differentiators from other forums that make this site a true diamond in the ruff. I pride myself on being able to respond to a question because it has been my experience. If it has not been my experience, I will, without hesitation do my best to steer someone to the right resource for a solution; and yes, I did inhale...

Thank you Rick, for bestowing  me this opportunity and entrusting me with this role.

Congrats, Fitz  :salut:

All I know is that Scott keeps sayin, "If you're not gonna retire up here by me in NC - head down to where Farley lives.  The area is outstanding and Fitz is just a SUPER great guy !"

and that's good enough for me....well, the fact that he has said that only about 600 times reinforces his argument...

I am sure I speak for us all when I say we wish you the very best wishes in your new position !!  :salut:  :sunny:

We have another announcement to make - GoneFission has accepted membership in this elite group  :salut:
I'm not sure what to say about John, (GF), this guy has such a diverse range of experiences from Nuclear "things" to such non-technical things as engines   John, you are a perfect fit for this group and I hope you wear this badge proudly.
Thanks for all that you've done for this site over the years.  :salut:
