Need new hatch latches
« on: June 13, 2012, 07:54:58 PM »
Evening CA team!
I'd like to replace the existing perko hatch latches on my two forward hatches, the "T" handle is made of that zamak stuff and it is starting to corrode and the latches are stiff and hard to operate, even after lubing, anyway the hole is 2 1/2" and the top flange of the latch is 3".I've done some searches and haven't really found anythingI like, could afford or they were the wrong size.I'd like to replace them will an all stainless version if I can.Any sources or other ideas?

Pete,
Southco compression hatch pulls would be sweet, but you mentioned something about "affording" them...

Pete,
Can almost guaranty that wherever you find them, they're gonna be pricey.  Especially the 3" (M5) ones.  We used them at Proline, really a nice product.  I know Gemlux had come out with something better...but probably more expensive as well.

What does MCL have on hand?

Pete, just picked up four Southco compression latches, 316L stainless. Do not know how much they cost yet tho...part of a package deal. I'll call you.

They are top drawer....and definitely beefy.
