Where do you get your 2 stroke oil?

Any tips for online sites that have good prices on 2 stroke oil?

Also, as long as it is TCW3 rated, I don't really need to go with Yamalube do I? (96 Yamaha 200 SW series carbed)

Walmart is always a good choice or if you see it on sale pick it up.  I personally dont stick with any one brand, oil is oil! I do however like the Synthetic Blends, seems to smoke less.

I live on Nantucket island off Cape Cod so I either have to buy it locally or purchase online and have it shipped.  Glyn's Marine out here has it (Yamalube) on the shelf for $88 for 2.5 gallons which is pretty much the same as I've seen it online minus what I would have to pay for shipping so it's actually a good deal.  However, if I can get a lower grade version online that's just as good but a lot cheaper I'd rather do that.  Just wondering what everyone thinks.  Stuff is not cheap!!!

Just checked out Walmart.  Pennzoil Marine 1 gallon is 16.50 plus shipping (1.97) and tax brings it to 19.50 a gallon.  I guess I'm ordering a couple of cases from Walmart!  I'll wait to hear from a few others but I think that's the way to go.  I agreed that oil is oil, in a 96 carbed motor anyways.  If I had an HPDI I might feel differently.  There is a cheaper brand (Supertech?) for $12 something a gallon but I like a known name brand for some reason.

Go with the Pennzoil.  I have used it for years with no issues.  If you had a new motor under warranty I would say go with factory oil until the warranty is up.

$17.00 per gallon bulk from their 55 gal barrel to my 5 gal pail at a local boat dealer, Yamalube 2M.  But if I couldn't get the bulk price and availability, I would go with the penzoil semi-synthetic.

If you've been using Yamalube, more than  likely its a Synthetic blend, so you'll be fine. (honestly I think you'd be fine even if it wasn't) again its OIL.  That Pennzoil Marine from Walmart is a Synthetic Blend, I have a gallon in my garage as we speak, works fine for me.   Again, the only reason I go with a Synthetic Blend is it seems to burn a little cleaner.

Cogratulations all, we put to bed a 2-stroke oil question in less than 1 page of replies.  Take that question over to THT, and see what happens    It would be on par about the same as asking which boat is best.  Just an observation...

I like the Starbrite synthetic blend when I can get it.  I believe they make it under a private label for several companies including west marine.  As already said oil is oil as long as it is TCW-3.  So I usually buy what ever is on sale. $88 is freaking crazy money for oil.

After I posted this I did a search on here and there are a few threads on the topic!  I was interested in more current ideas, though so thanks again all.

One more question slightly off topic-  Does the oil mix with the gas prior to entering the carbs or do the carbs get clean gas and the oil after the carbs?  I followed the oil lines and they seem to enter the manifold after the carbs.  Just curious if the gas in the carbs is already pre-mixed.

With the engines that have the auto oilers (VRO), I guess it would vary.  Think of the pre-mixers, all goes in the same place.
BTW, I buy my oil at Sams by the 1 Qt case - so you get 3 gals for about $14ea right now - then I refill my gal bottles with it.
