New Half Tower with Cobia Tower
« on: June 11, 2012, 01:49:54 AM »
Buddy of mine finished up my new Half Tower with fold down and removable Cobia Tower. He did awesome work on it. He owns Frattle Staris & Rails here in JAX. ( http://frattle.com/ ). This is their first complete top. I am very happy with it. I only had a short bit of time to get it in the water and test it between rain showers, but I will get some more pics of it this weekend.

We still need to relocate the antenna, install the outriggers, install the spreader lights, but all the supports for them are already in place.

My next project is to change our the aqua color scheme, then plan on hiring Seabob's services to do a complete rewiring.

Smokin'

Strong work, kudos to your tower builder. And great thinking on Bob for the rigging. Nothing like the best.

You're in JAX...so plan on attending the Classic Aquasport Octoberfest Reunion in Southport NC this fall! :thumright:

Looks good on that hull. The 225 of that era is a fave of mine and the top just adds to her. :thumleft:

Good luck.

Thanks guys. Some people were concerned about the extra weight, but it has to be lighter than the factory option one witht he fiberglass top.

Looks really good!
Is the windshield low on those (that model boat), or are you really tall? (seems like there's quite a lot of space between the windshield and Top- but I have never been on that model of Aquasport so I don't know first hand. Looks really good though. Does it fold forward or backwards?

Thanks! I'm only 5'8, but I can see over the windshield standing, barely though. So the windshield is low and the top is slightly high. Made so my taller fishing buddies don't bang their head on the grab bar, and to get z little extra height on the cobia tower.

Oops sorry, missed this question. It folds towards the aft. They also added a platform and tower on somebody else's existing T-top, and the made it fold forward.

Good to get a little space between your head and the canvas top so the heat will dissipate.
